Kazakhstan Frontline Prayer

Kazakhstan is one of the largest countries in Central Asia and is home to many different ethnic groups. Among them are many unreached peoples who have not yet had the opportunity to hear the Gospel.

According to Joshua Project, Kazakhstan has 53 people groups, and 27 of them are still considered unreached. Approximately 80% of the country’s population belongs to unreached people groups.

The majority of people in Kazakhstan identify as Muslims.

However, for many people, being Muslim is not only a matter of religious belief. It is also closely connected to:

▪ Ethnic identity

▪ Family tradition

▪ Cultural heritage

Because of this, becoming a Christian is often viewed as leaving one’s own culture and community.

For many Kazakhs, the idea is often:

“Kazakh = Muslim.”

As a result, when someone chooses to follow Christ, family members may be concerned not only about religion, but also about cultural and ethnic identity.

Many believers from Muslim backgrounds face pressure from family members, relatives, and their local communities.

Some people assume that Kazakhs are opposed to Jesus.

In many cases, however, the issue is not opposition.

Rather, many people have simply never had the opportunity to hear and understand the Gospel.

We thank God for the many faithful M2M missionaries who continue to share the Gospel, disciple believers, and help establish Christ-centered communities among different ethnic groups and regions throughout Kazakhstan.

🙏 Prayer Requests

▪ Pray that God will open hearts so that more people will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and come to know Jesus Christ.

▪ Pray that believers from Muslim backgrounds will remain strong in their faith despite pressure from family and community.

▪ Pray that God will protect M2M missionaries and give them wisdom, peace, and grace as they serve faithfully.

▪ Pray that the Lord will raise up more local workers so the Gospel can reach every ethnic group and remote area.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
— Matthew 24:14
