🇰🇭 Cambodia|Praying for God's Protection and Peace for Missionaries Amid Unrest
🔹 Cambodia-Thailand Border Dispute Remains Unresolved, Continuing to Affect People's Lives
The border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand has a long history, primarily involving disagreements over territorial sovereignty in certain border areas. These disputes can be traced back to border demarcations during the French colonial period in the early 20th century, and some areas remain contested today.
In 2025, tensions along the border escalated once again, leading to armed clashes between the two countries' military forces, resulting in casualties and forcing large numbers of border residents to flee their homes. Although the two countries reached a ceasefire agreement on December 27 of that year, the effects of the conflict continue to be felt.
According to World Vision's July 2026 report, approximately 20,923 people were still unable to return to their homes at that time. Many families lost their homes and livelihoods, while children's education was also disrupted. Some residents continued to need temporary shelter, food, clean drinking water, medical care, and psychological support. For these families, the ceasefire was only the beginning; rebuilding their lives remains a long journey.
🔹 Missionary Rasos Injured While Serving in the Military — Thank God for His Protection
Missionary Rasos, who serves as a soldier in the Cambodian military, is also required to carry out military duties near the front lines. In September, as Cambodia entered the rainy season, flooding spread across the region. At the time, his commander ordered him to move a tank. Hoping to complete the task quickly so he could return home and participate in church activities, he hurried and accidentally slipped, hitting his head against the tank.
We thank the Lord for His protection. Although missionary Rasos needed several stitches to his head, thankfully, his injury was not serious.
🙏 Join Us in Prayer for Cambodia
🔹 Pray for the safety of missionary Rasos while serving in the military and carrying out his duties. May the Lord protect him from armed conflict, accidents, and all kinds of danger, and grant him peace in both body and mind.
🔹 Pray for complete healing of his head injury. May the Lord also strengthen his faith and give him courage while serving in the military, so that he can continue to be a witness for Christ through his daily life.
🔹 Pray for the border residents who are still unable to return home. May the Lord provide shelter, food, clean drinking water, and medical care. Protect the children and help them continue their education, so that affected families can gradually rebuild their lives.
🔹 Pray for families who have been injured or have lost loved ones or their homes because of the conflict. May the Lord comfort them, heal their emotional wounds, and open a way for them to return home safely and rebuild their lives.
🔹 Pray that Cambodia and Thailand will resolve their longstanding border disputes through peaceful negotiations. May the ceasefire hold, preventing further escalation and allowing people in both countries to return to stable and peaceful lives.
❤️ May the Lord Himself be a refuge and strength for missionary Rasos and the local people. May He watch over them amid uncertainty and hardship, bring healing to the injured, restore hope to those who have lost their homes, and allow more people to experience the peace that comes from God.
"He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire." — Psalm 46:9
