🇧🇫 Burkina Faso|Praying for Missionary Teams and the Growth of the Gospel

📱 Getting to Know the Mission Field: Burkina Faso

💡 Did you know that the name “Burkina Faso” combines words from two local languages?

Before 1984, the country was known as Upper Volta. That year, the president renamed it Burkina Faso to express a commitment to moving beyond colonial identity and promoting national unity.

🔹 Burkina (Mooré): Upright or honorable person

🔹 Faso (Dyula): Homeland or fatherland

Together, the name is often interpreted as “Land of Upright People.”

Although Islam and traditional African religions are widely practiced in the country, Christians remain a minority. In recent years, the country has also faced significant instability. Yet God’s gospel continues to spread across this land in remarkable ways!

✨ Thanksgiving and Current Prayer Needs

As more people choose to follow Jesus and new churches are established, local M2M (Minority-to-Minority) ministry teams are facing increasingly intense spiritual challenges. Some team members have also experienced unexplained physical discomfort and illnesses.

The country is also experiencing its rainy season, bringing the risk of flooding and an increased risk of mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria.

🙏 Join Us in Prayer

✦ Pray for the protection of missionary workers 🛡️

May the Lord equip every frontline worker with the full armor of God, covering and protecting them as they serve. Pray for healing for those who are unwell and for strength to stand firm against spiritual attacks and opposition.

✦ Pray for safety throughout the rainy season 🌧️

Pray that the Lord will protect communities from severe flooding and the spread of diseases such as malaria. May He preserve the health and safety of ministry workers and local residents in their daily lives and travels.

✦ Pray for the continued growth of the gospel 🌱

May the Holy Spirit continue to work powerfully in Burkina Faso, softening hearts and drawing more people to the truth. May newly established churches become lights in their communities, bringing hope and reflecting the love of Christ.

📖 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” — Romans 8:37 (NIV)

🙏 Thank you to every ministry partner who faithfully supports the mission through prayer. May the Lord strengthen His workers, protect the communities they serve, and continue opening hearts to the gospel throughout Burkina Faso!
