Pray for Mali
Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa, located along the southern edge of the Sahara Desert. With a population of more than 25 million people, Mali is known for its rich history and diverse ethnic cultures. However, years of armed conflict, violent extremism, poverty, and food insecurity have left many families living in uncertainty and fear.
Mali is home to many ethnic groups, including the Bambara, Fulani (Peul), Songhai, and Tuareg peoples. The majority of the population is Muslim, and many remote communities still have very limited access to the Gospel and a local church.
According to Joshua Project, Mali has more than 40 Unreached People Groups (UPGs), and over 90% of the population belongs to these unreached communities. Many people may live their entire lives without ever having the opportunity to clearly hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
According to Open Doors’ World Watch List, Mali is also one of the countries where Christians face significant pressure and persecution. In some regions, armed groups continue to threaten churches and believers, making Gospel ministry both difficult and dangerous.
Through the M2M (Minority to Minority & Muslim to Muslim) mission strategy, local missionaries continue traveling to remote villages, sharing the love of Christ among people who share similar languages and cultures, making disciples, and bringing the Gospel to unreached communities.
🙏 Prayer Requests
- Pray that God will bring peace to Mali and deliver its people from conflict and fear.
- Pray that God will open the hearts of the Bambara, Fulani, Songhai, Tuareg, and many other peoples to receive the Gospel.
- Pray that God will protect and strengthen frontline M2M missionaries with wisdom, courage, and peace as they serve.
- Pray that the Lord will raise up more workers to bring the Gospel to the unreached peoples of Mali.
