Pray for Laos — May the Gospel Bring Hope to This Land
Laos is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, where most people live in rural areas and depend on agriculture for their livelihood.
The country is home to approximately 184 people groups. Many ethnic minorities live in remote mountain regions, and 142 of these people groups have little or no opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Although living conditions have gradually improved in recent years, many remote communities still face poverty, limited medical care, and a lack of educational resources. Many families work hard each day simply to provide for their basic needs. More than ever, they need the hope and new life that only the Gospel can bring.
Following Jesus in Laos is not easy.
Although Laos moved down six places in this year’s global persecution rankings, mainly because violent incidents have decreased, government restrictions on Christianity remain strict.
Authorities continue to monitor and confiscate Bibles and Christian literature, making it difficult for Gospel resources to reach those who need them.
Many believers still meet in secret and are reluctant to be baptized publicly because they fear government surveillance, discrimination, and pressure from their communities.

- Pray that the Lord will care for the people of Laos, especially families living in remote mountain regions and among ethnic minority communities, providing for their daily needs and revealing His grace.
- Pray for M2M missionaries and local churches, that God will give them wisdom and courage to continue sharing the Gospel with unreached peoples despite many restrictions.
- Pray that Bibles and Christian resources will safely reach those who are seeking God, helping many more people come to know Jesus Christ.
- Pray that God will transform Laos. May the Gospel reach every village and every people group, bringing the hope of eternal life to many.
