Ethiopia Frontline Prayer | I Make It My Ambition to Preach the Gospel Where Christ Has Not Been Named
Last month, Pastor Abela in Ethiopia visited seven remote villages in the southern region.
These villages are far from the cities, and some had little or no Gospel witness in the past.
But during this visit, he witnessed something truly encouraging:
❤️ Villages that once had no Christian families now have families beginning to follow Jesus!
This is the work God is doing.
Yet following the Lord is not always easy.
Some tribal leaders who accepted the Gospel have faced rejection from their families, and some have even been cursed and beaten.
Even so, they have chosen to remain steadfast in following the Lord.
🙏 This reminds us:
The Gospel does not simply lead people to “believe”; it brings transformation to their lives and, at times, requires them to pay a cost.
Pastor Abela also saw the great needs of children in these communities. Many children in remote villages have little or no opportunity to receive an education.
Therefore, establishing a church is not only about providing a place for people to worship God. It can also become a place where children can learn, grow, and receive care.
At present, two villages are urgently hoping for churches to be established.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
🙏 Let us pray together:
Pray that the Lord would strengthen the families who have already come to faith, especially brothers and sisters who are facing opposition, rejection, or even persecution from their families.
May the Lord give them courage and perseverance, so that even in the midst of difficulties, they will remain steadfast in their faith in Christ.
Pray also that the Lord would make a way for the two villages urgently in need of churches.
May He provide suitable ministry workers, pastors, meeting places, and the resources needed to establish churches in these villages.
🙏 May the Lord use these churches to become a blessing to the villages:
May more people hear the Gospel, children have opportunities to receive an education, families receive help, and entire villages have the opportunity to know Jesus Christ.
Pray that the Lord would carry the Gospel farther—to more remote places where people have never yet heard it.
🙏 We invite you to join us today in praying for these remote villages in southern Ethiopia.
