🇸🇴 Somaliland | Frontline Prayer

Did you know? The Somali people are a widely dispersed ethnic group, primarily living across the Horn of Africa, including Somalia, Somaliland, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya. They have their own language, culture, and traditions, with family and community relationships playing an important role in daily life.

Somaliland is located in the Horn of Africa, in the northwestern part of Somalia. The population is predominantly Somali, and Islam is the main religion. In this predominantly Muslim society, openly engaging with the Christian faith remains highly restricted.

🚨 In Somaliland, Christians face strict religious restrictions and significant social pressure. Local laws prohibit the promotion of religions other than Islam and prohibit Muslims from converting to another religion. There have been cases in which Christians and converts to Christianity have faced arrest or imprisonment.

🔹 In this challenging environment, Missionary Laim, a Somali woman, is currently serving on the front lines in Somaliland.

🔹 She and her ministry partners serve discreetly, bringing the love of Christ to people around them through medical care and home visits.

🔹 Although they have faced warnings from religious leaders and threats of retaliation, God’s work has not stopped. Some people have shared that they experienced the Lord’s guidance through dreams and later began seeking and learning about Christ.

🙏 Join Us in Prayer

🔹 Pray for Missionary Laim and her ministry partners. May the Lord give them wisdom, courage, and peace as they serve discreetly, and may He protect them and keep them safe.

🔹 Pray that the Lord will prepare more opportunities for Somali people to hear the Gospel, allowing more families to encounter the love of Christ and those who are seeking truth to encounter the Lord.

🔹 Pray for Christians and their families who have faced arrest, trials, or pressure because of their faith or their efforts to share the Gospel. May the Lord personally protect them and give them peace in difficult circumstances. Pray also that He will open the way for them to be released and reunited with their families.

🔹 Pray that the Lord will raise up more workers who are willing to serve among the Somali people, so that the Gospel may reach communities that have long had little access to a Christian witness.

📖 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

— 1 Corinthians 15:58
