Cameroon Frontline Prayer
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
— 1 John 5:14–15 (NIV)
Cameroon, located in Central-West Africa, is home to nearly 300 ethnic groups, making it one of the most culturally diverse countries in Africa. Although more than half of the population identifies as Christian, many unreached people groups in the northern region are predominantly Muslim.
In recent years, the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram has continued to carry out attacks, kidnappings, and acts of terror in northern Cameroon and neighboring countries. As a result, many Christians, churches, and villages continue to live under constant threat. Besides physical violence, many believers also experience less visible but very real pressure because of their faith, especially within government offices, workplaces, and traditional leadership systems.
Pastor Ambassa asks for prayer for Christians serving in northern Cameroon, especially those working in government positions. Many face quiet but persistent persecution because Muslim communities hold significant influence in government, business, and traditional leadership.
Another urgent prayer request concerns Pastor Ducha, who serves in Bible translation ministry. In early May, he and his two sons were kidnapped from their home by Boko Haram. Praise God that both sons have been safely released, but Pastor Ducha remains missing.
Please continue praying for his safe return. Also pray for all M2M missionaries serving in high-risk areas, as Boko Haram continues to carry out kidnappings and terrorist attacks throughout the region.
🙏 Prayer Requests
- Pray that Christians in northern Cameroon will remain faithful to Christ and boldly witness for Him despite pressure in their workplaces, government positions, and communities.
- Pray for Pastor Ducha. Ask the Lord to protect and rescue him, bring him home safely, and strengthen and comfort his family during this difficult time.
- Pray that God will protect every M2M missionary serving in high-risk areas, giving them wisdom, courage, and peace as they continue bringing the Gospel to unreached peoples.
