🇪🇷 Eritrea｜Praying for the Underground Ministry and Those in Need
🙏✨ Latest Ministry Updates
The team in Eritrea shares that God has been powerfully at work through their underground ministry over the past two months! Many people struggling with physical and emotional suffering, anxiety, and even spiritual oppression have come to the prayer room. Praise the Lord! Through His power, God has brought healing and deliverance, and more people are turning their hearts toward Him. 🙌🔥
The ministry environment remains extremely difficult and tense. Yet the team has not retreated. They continue to follow God’s leading and faithfully serve those in need, even in places hidden from public view.
🌍 Why Are Daily Life and Ministry So Challenging in Eritrea?
🕊️ Regional Tensions and the Challenge of Peace
Eritrea and neighboring Ethiopia have experienced war. Although the two countries signed a peace agreement in 2018, tensions have risen again in recent years. Instability in the Tigray region and surrounding areas continues to pose challenges to regional peace.
⛪ Restrictions on Religious Practice and Ministry
Religious activities in Eritrea are strictly restricted. Some Christians face significant difficulties in gathering and practicing their faith, while ministry workers endure considerable pressure.
👥 The Burden of Long-Term National Service
Eritrea enforces a system of compulsory national service that includes both military and civilian duties. Although the official service period is 18 months, it often extends for years or even decades, affecting young people’s education, employment, and family life. This is also one of the factors that leads some people to leave their homeland.
